ACTIVITY IN FRENCH

Discovered by Raymond and Maryse SABRIE, the archaeological site of the Clos de la Lombarde has been excavated since 1974 by the G.R.A.N. It corresponds to a residential area located north of Roman Narbonne, along the Domitian Way, near a vast necropolis, occupied by large domus, whose famous frescoes are on display at the archaeological museum of Narbonne.
Our understanding of the architecture of the Gallo-Roman house in Narbonne has greatly improved in recent years. This progress is due to the extensive excavations and the development of research in the field of wall painting.
