The Cité District
Discovery tour of the Cité, the historic heart
Guided tour IN FRENCH
Founded in 118 BC, Narbo Martius developed mainly on the left bank of the Atax River, which once flowed through the city. During the medieval period, the Cité — the original cradle of the ancient city — became the noble quarter, home to the dominant powers of the Middle Ages: the archiepiscopal and viscountal authorities.
With a certified tour guide, stroll through the Cité district and discover over 2,000 years of history through the monuments and remains that form the soul of Narbonne!
